About
North Elm Animal Hospital
Our Story
In November of 2000, Drs. Anne Mitchell and Claudia Sims opened North Elm Animal Hospital (NEAH) after practicing together since 1990. The practice grew rapidly and the building was expanded in 2004 to meet their needs. We are a six-doctor hospital: Dr. Miranda Lemyre in November 2017, Dr. Mariana Reyes in July 2021, Dr. Bastian Parsons, Dr. Blake Klein in August 2021 and Dr. Angel Coates in 2023. We have more than 85 combined years of practice experience among us!
As of November 2021, beloved Dr. Anne Mitchell retired from veterinary medicine.
Our hospital manager is Bess Drath. Our staff is comprised of more than 35 dedicated technicians, veterinary assistants and receptionists. We are a pet-loving group of people, and between all of us have a total of 142 pets! Our team strives to provide the best compassionate care possible. The doctors also work with local veterinary specialists and the NCSU Veterinary School to ensure that pets receive the highest level of care available.

Our mission at North Elm Animal Hospital is to exceed our client’s expectations by providing exceptional and compassionate care. We treat our patients as if they were our own.
